LOCAL ACTIVITIES

You won’t be disappointed when visiting the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. We have plenty to keep you active such as canoeing the River Wye, climbing the rocks of Symonds Yat, cycling through miles of purpose made tracks in the forest, jumping amongst the trees at Go Ape and playing a round of golf at one of the many courses close to the site.

If you are wanting a more relaxed stay, why not visit some of our beautiful heritage sites. Chepstow, Raglan, Goodrich Castles and the grand Tintern Abbey are all within a short drive away (or a walk if you are feeling fit!). The area is a walkers’ paradise.

Riverside walks, hill top walks, sculpture trails, arboretums, follow in the same tracks of our ancestors in the ancient woodlands. Nature is in abundance in the forest and wye. There are a handful of nature reserves with many species of insects’ birds and ducks, wild ponies, deer, boar and trees.
